MICKY & THE MOTORCARS - BLOG

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Tomorrow we head into the studio first thing in the morning. Cody Braun and David Abeyta are the producers again. This should be a pretty interesting experience. We made some pretty big changes to quite a few of the songs we are recording in the last couple days, at least compared to the way we have been doing them live. (Those of you that heard some of these live before might recognize the songs, but, I guess they are a bit shook up since the last time we played them.) I am looking forward to getting into the studio and getting something accomplished. I (bass) am usually the first one to finish tracking, I guess it is always nice for me, as I get quite a few days off while everyone else polishes up there parts. (not to say that I am any better, bass and drum tracks are always done first, that’s all!:)

I should say that I welcome back baseball season wholeheartedly! I don’t know if any of you know, but most of us Idaho boys are all pretty big baseball fans. George W. threw out the first pitch at the Nationals-Braves game, and it was quite a bit high and outside. Obviously it would have been a ball. He just can’t seem to get things quite right, to say the least!:)

I am looking forward to watching my dismal San Francisco Giants open up against the marginal Los Angeles Dodgers, who just so happen to be Gary, Micky, and my brother’s favorite team. This makes for quite a rivalry amongst us. I can’t wait to see if Barry Zito can throw a fastball slower than Tim Wakefield’s knuckleball. At least he has the arcing grapefruit curveball at his expense to make sure his E.R.A. stays in the 10.00 plus range…..that is, if the low 80’s “heater” doesn’t do that trick for him. (insert sarcasm)

Happy Trails,
Mark
